Weißburgunder
Ried Hasel

The down-to-earth one in the Hasel family! Burgundy varieties, in particular, feel very comfortable on the chalky loess soil of the Strasser Hasel. A richness in nutrients ensures optimal growth. Only after a few years in our 12-metre-underground cellar beneath the Gaisberg can the Weißburgunder Ried Hasel reveal its full potential.

grape variety:
Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc)
vineyard:
Hasel
soil:
loess

Around a third of the grapes are harvested for our Brut Reserve as early as the beginning of September. The remaining Weißburgunder can further mature thanks to a thinned-out wall of foliage, before going to the press house for gentle pressing. Almost half of the quantity is aged in Manhartsberger oak barrels for more than 12 months; the other half remains in the steel tank until blending.
